ITWomen has established the ITWomen Charitable Foundation: 501(c) (3)
to provide scholarships for women in South Florida who desire
to study technology at a vocational school, community college,
or four-year institution. The Foundation has been a part of
ITWomen's vision from the beginning.
The Foundation's scholarship program supports the mission
of ITWomen to increase the number of women in technology careers,
foster career advancement through professional development
and education, and provide a supportive network for women
in technology. The scholarship fund depends directly on your
donations. Your contribution can help make a real difference
in the kinds of opportunities available to women seeking to
improve their options in life.
ITWomen Charitable Foundation College Scholarship 2008 ITWomen Foundation has created these scholarships as part of its mission to increase the numbers of women pursuing high-tech careers. Only graduating senior high school FEMALES ACCEPTED/ ENROLLED in a post secondary institution (college, university or vocational school) in the Tri-County ((Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach ) may apply. Recipients will be selected by the ITWomen Scholarship Selection Committee, comprised of members from local South Florida academic institutions and industry. Each recipient will receive $1,000 a year renewable scholarship for four years (provided that the program of study is IT or related field). The selection is based on a combination of factors including, financial assistance, program of study, and a 250 word essay demonstrating why the applicant is pursuing a degree in Information Technology or related field. The ITWomen Charitable Foundation College scholarships will be administered by the George Snow Scholarship Fund. All applications must be received by noon, Feb 1, 2008.
