ITWomen to Recognize 9  High School Women for Computing Achievements during March 13th Members Only event!!!

As part of an effort to encourage more young women to choose careers in technology, the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and ITWomen will recognize nine South Florida high-school women for their accomplishments and aspirations in computing and technology. The award event is part of ITWomen’s March 13th Members Only Luncheon which will be held at the Stadium Club of Florida International University.  

Details:

  • Date: Saturday, March 13th, 2010
  • Time: 11:30pm - 2:00pm (hot lunch will be served from 12:00pm to 12:30pm)
  • Place: Stadium Club (located on the FIU Football Stadium). See attached map.

About NCWIT:

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing is a program of the National Center for Women & Information Technology, a coalition of nearly 200 universities, corporations and organizations dedicated to increasing the meaningful participation of women in computing.

The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing was created to acknowledge the computing aspirations of young women, introduce them to leadership opportunities in the field, and generate visibility for women’s participation in computing-related pursuits.

Award-winners have been selected for their outstanding aptitude and interest in computing and desire to pursue computing-related studies of occupations. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing Affiliate Award program is sponsored by a generous grant from the Motorola Foundation.
